“Wiki Education gave me the opportunity to experience this cumulative phenomenon of shared learning and a public approach to knowledge firsthand, all while cooperating with others equally committed to the team task.” *
Alumni of our Wikipedia professional development courses have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of and engagement with Wikipedia by applying Good Article standards to high-impact articles relevant to their fields of study.
The work it takes to apply Good Article standards to important, high-value Wikipedia articles can often take more time than a single volunteer can offer. This advanced-level course offers a collaborative solution, engaging 5-10 participants over 6 weeks in focused and impactful work editing an article of mutual interest. A certificate will be awarded through Accredible upon successful completion of the course.
The course will begin the week of February 17 and end the week of March 24, 2019.
Length: 6 weeks
Time commitment: 3-5 hours per week
Topics: We will select the course participants based on their interests in shared topics, as indicated via the list in this application.
